Product information "Friends of the Frog, Geocoin"
A special piece of geocaching history – now available to everyone.
In 2015, the international reviewer community launched a special geocoin project called “Supporting the Game.” At the time, these coins were available exclusively to Community Volunteers and so-called Lackeys – the employees of Geocaching HQ. Many of the coins were later given as surprise gifts to dedicated members of the geocaching community.
The new “Friends of the Frog Public Edition” brings this wonderful idea back to life. In addition to an edition reserved exclusively for reviewers, a version have been created for public sale for the first time. This allows many more geocachers to own a piece of this special community history, while reviewers can continue to surprise community members with their own exclusive edition, which is not available anywhere else.
The beautifully detailed design features Signal, the well-known geocaching frog, together with Tracker the dog. The geocoin was designed by Christian Mackey in collaboration with reviewers Isht Kinta, IgnotusPeverell, and Westpointer.
With a diameter of approximately 7 cm, this coin makes an impressive collectible. It is trackable on Geocaching.com and even comes with its own unique icon. You can give it a special place in your personal collection and allow other geocachers to discover it, or assign it a mission and send it traveling from cache to cache.
A special geocoin for collectors, experienced geocachers, and everyone who is just beginning to discover the fascinating world of geocaching.

- Diameter: approximately 7 cm

What does a geocaching reviewer do?
Reviewers are highly experienced geocachers who volunteer their time to support the community. Before a newly hidden geocache is published on Geocaching.com, a reviewer checks the submitted cache listing against the general geocaching guidelines and any applicable regional policies. If information is missing or changes are required, the reviewer contacts the cache owner to clarify the details. Once the cache meets all the requirements, the reviewer publishes it.
