Twenty-four satellites around the globe processed their new orders, and instantly the accuracy of GPS technology improved tenfold. It all started with a bucket hidden in the woods. On May 3, 2000, a GPS enthusiast named Dave Ulmer hid the Original Stash in a remote area outside of Portland, Oregon. He included some trade items, and a log book so any finders could record their visit. He put the coordinates on a chat board, and encouraged others to go find it.
